How to Fix CCTV Issues after the Installation  support

After the installation support you can still have access to use the Members Pages Help files just enter your CCTV user password and you can view ALL the help files.

If the issue is NO RECORDINGS... and you have tried switching BOTH BLACK POWER PLUGS  off for 2 minutes and switch back on and still no recording. The best option would be to replace the hard drive.

The hard drive needs to be a SATA 3 hard drive and the bigger the hard drive the longer the recording and price. The hard drives can be easily be purchased from the likes of Amazon /ebay/ or local computer stores. The systems can use from a 500gb drive to a 4TB and any size in between.. A 1TB would suit most people with added storage over the original.

Please NOTE: NEVER WORK ON LIVE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT

Replacing the Hard Drive requires no technical cctv system skills just the ability to undo and re screw some small philip screws and care and attention of where you undid any of the cctv cables so you can place them back in the correct location.....

The steps would be to:

1) NEVER WORK ON LIVE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT

UN plug all power supplys to both the CCTV box and the Cameras...

2) Next move the CCTV box so you can get access to the small case screws... usually 2 on each size and maybe 2 or 3 at the rear on some of the older models.. You may have to remove some of the cctv connections at the rear of the cctv box in order to give yourself working access to remove the casing screws... if so note which cable goes where for re connecting later.. (take a snapshot may help!)

3) Next disconnect the two cable to the hard drive and remove the 4 screws under the cctv box which hold the hard drive in place.

4) Next replace the old hard drive with your new hard drive.. reconnect the two cables and the hard drive 4 retaining screws ...

5) fix the black casing lid and its small screws and any cables you undid to get access to the cctv box..

6) Last... now plug the power back into the cctv box once you have checked all cables are connected and every thing is safe and secure.. Your cctv box will now re boot and AUTO format the new hard drive.

If unsure there are many Utube videos availabe for hard drive exchange if you feel you need further visual support.

If the Issue is NO CAMERA Image:

The steps would be to:

1) Check your CCTV box has power and is working. (if not see members help files)

2) Next move on to check if the screen shows any blank cameras..

3) Check the power supply to the cameras and their 4 way power splitter..(see members help files to check 4way splitters)

4) If you don't have internet again refer to the (members help files for internet and powerline checking)

5) Next move on to the actual camera.. Just pop the camera with its plastic lid off the back box disconnect the camera cables and take the camera to one of your other working cameras...

6) Now pop off the camera and lid at the working camera and replace temporary with the suspected fault camera...

7) Now check to see if the camera shows on the cctv screen... if YES the camera is Ok and the old cable will require replacement.. If NO then the actual camera would appear to be faulty and would require replacement.

8) Best option for replacement cable would be to use cctv coax and power cables in either 60 feet or 30 meter lengths.. Replacement would be to to follow the old cable run and fix the new cable in place.

9) If your old faulty cable is LAN cable, again the best option would be to replace the cable with the new cctv and power in one cable as in 8)

Please NOTE:

Replacing cameras or cables requires no technical cctv system skills just average DIY clipping and drilling skills as with any DIY handyman/woman.
